Our Philosophy
We believe families deserve better than ads and sales pressure.
Choosing a memory care community is one of the hardest decisions a family will face. The last thing they need is a directory built to sell them, not serve them. MemoryCare exists to be the opposite of that.
The industry standard
Most memory care directories are advertising platforms disguised as helpful resources. Here is what families encounter:
Pricing hidden behind contact forms
Most directories force you to submit your phone number before showing any pricing. The goal is not to help you — it’s to generate a sales lead.
Referral commissions of $3,000–$12,000 per move-in
Many “free” referral services charge facilities one month’s rent for each placement. They only recommend communities that pay. Your “personalized” list is a sales funnel.
Aggressive sales follow-up
Families report receiving dozens of calls and emails after a single inquiry. Some directories sell contact information to multiple providers simultaneously.
Sponsored placements disguised as organic results
Paid listings appear alongside real results with no clear disclosure. You cannot tell which communities earned their ranking and which bought it.
How MemoryCare is different
Zero ads, zero paid organic ranking
Listings are ranked by data confidence, not ad spend. Paid provider activity cannot buy organic ranking, compare placement, trust status, or verification labels.
Flat qualified-lead fees only
Families never pay. If a family chooses to send an information request or tour request, MemoryCare may bill that provider a flat fee only when the request is qualified.
Every data point carries a trust label
Our 6-state trust taxonomy tells you exactly how confident we are in each piece of information. Verified, provider-claimed, estimated, unknown, stale, or conflicting — you always know.
Transparent pricing shown upfront
When we have pricing data, we show it directly. No contact forms, no bait-and-switch, no gatekeeping behind phone calls.
Privacy-first, no data selling
No third-party tracking pixels, no data brokers, no cookie walls, no selling your information to providers. Your search is yours.
The 6-state trust taxonomy
Every sensitive data point in our directory — pricing, staffing, security features, payment acceptance — is assigned one of six verification states. You always know exactly how confident we are in what you are reading.
Verified
Corroborated by a strong source or direct confirmation
Provider Claimed
Found on provider materials, not independently verified
Estimated
Inferred from secondary data or derived range
Unknown
No trustworthy data available
Stale
Previously known, now past refresh threshold
Conflicting
Inconsistent across sources — not settled fact
How we make money
Families never pay MemoryCare. Full listing details, visible pricing, trust labels, and direct provider contact information are not hidden behind a lead form. Our provider-side revenue model is built around one rule: payment never influences what families see.
Included
Free family access
Families can browse full listing details, visible pricing, provider contact information, comparison tools, and trust signals without paying MemoryCare.
Provider-side
Qualified request fees
If a family chooses to send an information request or tour request, MemoryCare may bill the provider a flat fee only when that request is qualified.
Provider-side
Provider profile tools
Providers can claim listings and submit operational updates. Any paid provider activity is labeled when relevant and never changes organic ranking, compare placement, trust status, or verification labels.
The binding rule: Payment from providers can never influence organic ranking, search results, comparison placement, trust status, or verification labels. If we ever introduce sponsored content, it will be clearly and permanently labeled.
How we source and verify data
Our data pipeline begins with public, authoritative sources: state licensing databases, official provider websites, and published regulatory filings. We never scrape review sites or aggregate unverified third-party data without labeling it accordingly.
Each data point is assigned a verification status based on source strength. A weaker source can never overrule a stronger one. Provider-submitted information is accepted but clearly labeled as “Provider Claimed” until independently corroborated.
Data is refreshed on a regular cadence. When a data point exceeds its refresh threshold without re-verification, it is automatically downgraded to “Stale.” When sources disagree, the field is marked “Conflicting” rather than silently choosing one version.
We never fabricate pricing, licensing status, availability, staffing levels, or clinical capabilities. If we cannot verify a field, it is marked unknown — never given false certainty.
